Bush - whom, by their words and actions, truly felt could walk on water, heal the sick, raise the dead an make no mistakes whatsoever - what's wrong with investing just 25% ... okay, 50% ... faith in our new president.

How about we do something about the "conservatives" who have "PALIN 2012" stickers on their cars, listen to Ronald Reagan inaugural speeches on Sirius Patriot, and - again by their actions - act as if they WANT Obama to fail, for our country to further collapse. Because that would mean the Republicans would return. "America First"? Bullhockey.

(Fortunately, there are plenty of real conservatives who are accepting this turn of history with grace. My rant spares these good people.)

But the neocons, who expected us to sit down and shut up while GWB was in office, uttering not so much as a single polite word of disagreement, ought to at least pray for President Obama. HE'S in the White House now, like it or not.

Now that Bush 43 is no longer in office, I can breathe easier. Will Obama work miracles? Doubtful. Will he make our nation better? I hope and pray so each minute.

The best part? For once, a president who isn't a walking embarrassment.

Quoting Gerald Ford: "Our long national nightmare is over."Talmadgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02398182312942014436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19272251.post-63624119594931123952009-01-20T08:26:00.000-08:002009-01-20T08:26:00.000-08:00Please don't invest so much of your faith in any p...Please don't invest so much of your faith in any politician. My experience is that they ALL disappoint. What would be interesting if you track and report on the "score" from your point of view. I was disappointed by Nixon's paranoia, Carter's inflation, Regan's deficits, Bush41's "no new taxes", Clinton's alley cat behavior, Bush43's naivete about Iraq, and Obama's inability to pick his "own" people.

Your mileage may vary.Jasper John R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02336106762091886476noreply@blogger.com
