And Now is When Depression Sets In...

I got home today and found a pile of mail in the strangest place--halfway up the stairs. But I was tremendously excited, because the proof of my soon-to-be-publicly-released photography book was in there.

But I forced myself to read all my other mail first, since I'm never really good with suspense, and I'm trying to learn patience.

Maybe I should have looked at the book first.

What came in the mail?

None other than the invitation to my 10 year college reunion.

And then it hit me.

I've been out of college for ten stinkin' years. I didn't START college ten years ago, no no no, I FINISHED college ten years ago.

So young, so idealistic, big plans, big dreams, not a whole lot of which revolved around driving a car for a living, I can assure you. I had grand visions of foreign travel, diplomacy, perhaps a tony post on the Mediterranean... At least a secretarial job in the State Department, where I'd quickly be noticed for my brilliance and made a liaison or attache...

But alas, Fate has other plans at the moment. Maybe in my next life... Or maybe just later on in this one.

I won't be going to my reunion--it's the same weekend as the planned Myrtle Beach excursion. I'm glad I'll be surrounded by friends on whose shoulders I can cry.

Wow you're old! I think I'll buy you a walker for Christmas. :)

I think we are a go for Myrtle Beach!

My TWENTIETH high school reunion is slated for this year. Last year was my college class's fifteenth.

When the hell did I get this old?
